Natural Park Sangeh Bali

Sangeh is a place of tourism on the island of Bali which is located to the north of Ubud, Gianyar regency. Sangeh offers sights of natural beauty with the authenticity of the ecosystem. Broad Sangeh Nature Park is approximately 10 hectares of “pohon pala” (nutmeg trees). Travelers will appreciate the fresh air and natural habitat Sangeh monkeys. Forest nutmeg tree is a sacred temple area sacred by indigenous villagers Sangeh.

Apart from the pala tree, there are plants in the forest famous Sangeh, local people call the tree "lanang-wadon" (male-female), because the bottom of the tree is hollow so as to resemble female genitalia, while in the middle of the hole to grow the stem that leads to the bottom and look like male genitalia. Sangeh famous because it is a village in which the monkeys to roam freely, but there very tame monkeys on a hill called "Bukit Sari". There was also a temple named "Pura Bukit Sari". Monkeys here in power and is said to have three regions of the kingdom. According to local legend "Bukit Sari" and this monkey was there when Hanuman, a character in the epic Ramayana, lift Mahameru mountain. Some parts of this mountain fell in there, and since then the monkeys reigned there. Although monkeys are sacred by the people and wild life in the woods, but they remain benign. So that the tourists can mingle freely and take pictures with this primate animals.

In addition to monkeys, as the original inhabitants of the forest, tourists can also see the majesty of the history of Bali, from the existence of the site "Pura Bukit Sari". This temple was established since the 17th century by the adopted son of Raja Mengwi, Anak Agung Made Karangasem Anglurah Sakti, while being imprisoned.

That said, according to local folklore, forest Sangeh made by order of Raja Mengwi. The king ordered that the secret of making the forest. Specially imported nutmeg tree of Mount Agung. For some reason, the secret order to make the park eventually leak because of the beholder, so the king ordered it to stop, and the area was called Sangeh which means "to have a look".
