Bali Barat National Park

Bali Barat National Park is located in the western part of the island of Bali. This national park has a 77.000 hectare area, which covers approximately 10% of the land area of ​​the island of Bali. Consists of a variety of forest and savanna habitats. In the middle of the park is dominated by the remains of four of the Pleistocene volcano, the mountain Patas as the highest point in this place.

Bali Barat National Park has a unique type of ecosystem, which is a combination of terrestrial ecosystems and marine ecosystems. In this area, visitors can explore terrestrial ecosystems (forests), starting from monsoon forest, lowland rain forest, savanna, forest to the beach. While on aquatic ecosystems (marine), tourists can see the green mangrove forests, coastal beauty, coral ecosystems, seagrass, and shallow and deep ocean waters.

Besides enjoying the terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, tourists can also explore the small islands that are part of Bali Barat National Park, including Menjangan Island, Bluebird Island, Bird Island, and Island of Bats. Menjangan Island is one of the favorite islands that are often visited by tourists. Island with an area of ​​approximately 6,000 ha of this is the habitat of deer or elk (Cervus timorensi). Not only that, tourists can also dive in the waters around Menjangan Island to see clusters of beautiful coral reefs with a variety of fish species.

Approximately 160 species of animals and plants are protected in national parks. Animals such as bull, deer, monkeys, bats and various birds. Bali Barat National Park is the last place to find one endangered endemic Bali, Bali Starling in their natural habitat.
